God I Surrender To Your Healing:
When we hear the word "surrender" it can sometimes bring a negative emotion and thought. Surrender according to google.com is to cease resistance to an enemy or opponent and submit to their authority. WOW, that opened my eyes to surrender with a fresh perspective. But wait, God is not our enemy. Quite the contrary, He is our redeemer. God is the restorer of our soul. This means He will restore us to who He created us to be before pain ever happened in our lives. Yet, surrender tells us we have to be vulnerable because we are giving up our control and giving it over to God. For many, to give someone other than ourselves control in our lives reminds us of those who took control of us and caused heartache and pain. it brings us into remembrance of when our someone took advantage of innocence or controlled us through anger, abuse and more. When we say, "God I surrender to your healing," we are saying, "I am giving up the control of my pain in my life and making room for Your healing." That is not easy. Pain can become a friend and God can be seen as our enemy. Especially when we have known pain in lives more than anything else. It does not have to continue to be that. Let's examine where you are n regards to relinquishing the control pain has in your life and your desire to release it.
For many of us, this is a hard place to be. So, in regards to this statement, I must ask you some questions.
1. Have you identified the healing you need in your life?
2. Are you ready to heal?
3. What does surrendering to God's healing mean to you?
The reason these questions are valuable in letting go and surrendering is because they allow us to analyze where we are, what we are holding on to and most importantly if we want to release the pain. The last part is most important to me because being in pain can do a few things. We can become accustomed to being a victim to pain. We can use pain to justify our action or the lack thereof. We can see pain as all we will ever have in our lives and fearful or doubtful that giving it to God is worth it or necessary.
Yes, you have endured pain. I understand that.
Yes, it has affected you in some way in your emotions, mindset and self awareness. I understand that.
BUT, do you want to live the rest of your life allowing it to hinder, control or enable you in some way? If your answer is no, then you are ready to no longer resist the healing in those areas of your life that God wants to give you. Some think because God is God, we don't have to surrender, in a sense, because He is God. He can do what He wants. Yet, God will only do what His Word says and only do what we allow Him to do in our lives. He loves us so much that He still gives us our free will to choose what we allow of Him in our lives.
Are you ready to make this statement in your life? Here are some ways to identify if you are not?
1. You don't want to face the pain because you don't want to feel the hurt.
2. You have become so connected to the pain and you use it as an excuse to be bitter, hateful, mean, a victim and more.
3. You believe you are okay, just the way you are and don't desire to change.
Does this sound familiar? Then you are not ready to surrender it to God. Your energy is all tied to your pain and you are holding on to it with dear life not realizing or acknowledging that there is more to your life than pain. You are in communion with the pain because it is all you have known and in many cases, it has repeated itself over and over.
Did any of this sting? Did it open your eyes?
I truly hope so because if it did, you may be ready to make the statement above and surrender all the pain in your soul (mind, will and emotions) to God and allow Him to heal and restore your life. I know it is not easy. I know it is not easy to be vulnerable. Yet, I know if you are tired of the affect the negative experiences have on your life, you will surrender to God who loves you so much. The pain no longer needs to be a crutch. The pain no longer needs to be an excuse to act out. The pain no longer needs to be the reason you accept less than you deserve. If you are ready, God is ready to do surgery in your soul where you have been crippled and give you the ability to walk and live standing taller and braver.
I pray you will choose to make this statement a mantra in your life, "God I Surrender To Your Healing," in my life. I surrender my pain to you and ask that You come into my life and restore me. In Jesus name Amen
Are you ready? I hope so. God has been waiting on you to restore, refresh and revive within you everything the devil tried to destroy.
